Helen has a background working with children and families in a range of settings, including across Northern and Western Adelaide, the APY Lands and school settings. It was in these roles that Helen became focused on finding a therapeutic modality that was child-centred and evidence-based. Since then, Helen has pursued study and practice in Child Play Therapy and has worked as a Play Therapist in South Australian clinics, supporting children and families who are participants of the NDIS and families seeking extra social and emotional support for their children. Helen enjoys working with families from diverse backgrounds and enjoys taking the time to build meaningful relationships with her clients. In her spare time, Helen loves spending time on their Adelaide Hills bush block and at markets with her husband and two young boys.
Helen holds a Master of Child Play Therapy from Deakin University, an Honours Degree in Community Development from The University of Adelaide and a Diploma of Youth Work. Helen is a Registered Psychotherapist with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and is a Registered Play Therapist with the Play Therapy Practitioners Association (PTPA). Helen has also completed Level 1 Training in Theraplay and is a certified Learn to Play practitioner.
Rose has a rich social work background supporting families in mental health and parenting settings. From her work in the child protection field, Rose became passionate about working with a proactive and child-led approach to support children's wellbeing, leading her to complete studies in play therapy. Rose is passionate about supporting children to express themselves and process their experiences through play, to support increased confidence and self-efficacy.
In her spare time, Rose enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with her partner, two daughters and German shepherd dog.
Rose holds a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Planning and is a member of the Australian Associated of Social Workers. Rose has an associate registration with the Play Therapy Practitioners Association, Certificate in Play Therapy, Certificate in Infant Mental Health, Marte Meo Practitioner Level training.
