Play Therapy is an evidence-based and developmentally appropriate framework for counselling with children. Play Therapists are trained to attune with the child and assist them to process their feelings through play at their own pace. Toys in the playroom are strategically chosen to allow a range of expression and meet differing needs and abilities. Parents are guided through the process with regular updates. This is our most common form of Play Therapy here at the practice and is suitable for children aged three to twelve. We have two playrooms at Adelaide Hills Play Therapy: one for younger children and one that appeals to older children with board games and more sensory items.
